01About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Scan Invoice (“we”, “us”). They cover the website, the app at /app and everything you do with them. By signing in or scanning an invoice, you accept them. If you don’t accept them, don’t use Scan Invoice.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information, and our Cookie Policy explains what we keep in your browser.
02Who can use Scan Invoice
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- Rewards are not available in every country. Don’t use Scan Invoice where the law doesn’t allow it, or where you aren’t allowed to receive crypto assets or tokenized shares.
- One person, one account. Running several accounts to claim more rewards is not allowed.
03Your account
Your account is a crypto wallet that you control. You sign in by approving a short message in your wallet, which proves the wallet is yours. You also choose a username before your first scan.
- We will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key. Anyone who does is not us.
- Anyone who can use your wallet or this device while you are signed in can use your account. Keep both secure, and sign out on shared devices.
- Transactions on a blockchain can’t be undone. If you lose access to your wallet, we can’t recover it or anything sent to it.
04Scanning invoices
You photograph an invoice with the camera inside the app. Every invoice you scan must be:
- a real invoice for a purchase you made yourself;
- photographed live, not edited, generated, printed from a screenshot or shown on another screen;
- claimed only once. The same purchase can’t be claimed again, by you or anyone else.
We check each invoice with automated tools, including an AI model that reads the photo, and a person may look at it too. We can refuse an invoice that fails these checks or that we can’t verify. If you think a refusal is wrong, you can ask for a second look from the invoice’s page, once per invoice.
05Rewards
An accepted invoice from an eligible brand can earn a reward. Rewards are paid as tokenized shares or, where offered, in $INVOICE, and are sent to your wallet on a blockchain.
- How much an invoice pays depends on your tier, which depends on how much $INVOICE you hold, and on daily limits. A wallet on the Starter tier (holding none) earns nothing.
- Tokenized shares are not traditional equity. They don’t give you ownership of the company, voting rights or dividends.
- Reward amounts, tiers, limits and the list of eligible brands can change, and rewards can be paused. A change doesn’t affect rewards already sent.
- Rewards are a promotion, not wages or a return on an investment. You are responsible for any tax on what you receive.
06The $INVOICE token and risk
$INVOICE, tokenized shares and other crypto assets can lose value quickly, and you can lose everything you put in. Their prices are set by markets we don’t control.
Nothing on Scan Invoice is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or an offer to sell securities. Decide for yourself, and get advice if you need it.
07Fraud and reversals
If we find that a reward was obtained by breaking these terms (a fake, edited or reused invoice, several accounts, or automated scanning, for example), we may:
- refuse or hold the invoice and any reward for it;
- take back a reward that is still held in the app, or ask for it back if it was sent;
- limit how often the account can scan, or suspend or close it.
08Acceptable use
Don’t:
- use bots, scripts or anything else automated to sign in, scan or claim;
- try to get around rate limits, checks or blocks, or test our systems for weaknesses without our written permission;
- interfere with the service, other people’s use of it, or the networks it runs on;
- pretend to be someone else, or pick a username that is offensive or misleading.
09Your photos and details
The photos and details you send stay yours. You let us store, read and review them, and use what we read, to run Scan Invoice, verify purchases and prevent fraud. You confirm that you have the right to share them.
10Brands
Scan Invoice is not affiliated with, endorsed by or partnered with any brand named on the site. Brand names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to show which purchases are eligible.
11Changes and ending
We may change, pause or stop any part of Scan Invoice. We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use Scan Invoice means you accept the new terms.
You can stop using Scan Invoice at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
12Disclaimers and liability
Scan Invoice is provided as it is and as available. We don’t promise that it will always work, be free of errors, or accept every invoice.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, changes in the value of any crypto asset, or failures of blockchains, wallet apps or other services we don’t run. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
